We Both Turn 31

Allen turned 31 years old today. I am not in my 30's quite yet, I can still say I am twenty-something for several more months, but I am 31 weeks pregnant. We celebrated his birthday with a crocante, which is one of his favorite Peruvian desserts. The Arevalo Church also suprised him with a birthday cake after church yesterday. We are blessed for the life and breath God gives us everyday. Happy Birthday Allen!

Princess Adeline Turns Three

Today we had a wonderful princess birthday party for Adeline who turns three tomorrow. Surrounded by twelve other beautiful princesses and one handsome young knight (her best friend, Andrew Bradford) we celebrated with fun games, including "Pin the Crown on Adeline," and served an elegant lunch along with a pink cake homemade by the Queen :-)

Another Loss

Last night I received a phone call from my brother that our dear grandfather, Gerald Abshire, had passed away surrounded by all his children and many grandchildren. He would have been 93 years old this July and was still living indepently in the same house he raised his four children. He lived in Kaplan, LA, outsite of Lafayette in "cajun country" most call it and spoke prodomintly French. I have so many fond childhood memories of spending a week each summer with he and my grandmother. He loved to sing and dance to Zydeco music and play his accordion while all his grandchildren dance around him. He was as full blooded cajun as they come! I wish I could be with my family for the funeral, but will not be able to make the trip being 7 months pregnant. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Easter Fun!

Here are some pics of our recent festivities at the Bakers house and the girl's school. Enjoy!

Mary Allen at 28 Weeks

Mary Allen 28 weeks frontWe recently had a 4-D sonogram of Mary Allen. She looked beautiful and so sweet. She measured two weeks bigger for her age and the doctor called her "gordita" which means "little fatty" based of her chubby cheeks and larger size. At 28 weeks old she weighs 2 1/2 pounds and about 16 inches long from head to toe.

Yes, that is right, we get 4-D sonograms in Peru! Pretty amazing, they actually do a sonogram at every visit and the clinic I go to has a new 4-D sonogram machine. The other amazing part is that it is so much less expensive than in the US. For example, the doctor consultation and the 4-D sonogram were all just S./70.00 soles, that is $22! Here's her side profile...
